Thank you for participating in our '09 version of I Compete in Texas. Now we'll get back to the studio and get ready for an even better 2010 season... See you soon!

Welcome to I Compete in Texas!

Our goal is to inspire and guide our young Texas musicians to excel at the Texas All-State music competition and create the best learning experience, while getting ready in only SIX WEEKS!

What if you could be ready to compete in SIX WEEKS, and enjoy the rest of your time in other activities?

Football games and Marching Band absorb most of the available time to practice, but the region try-outs will still be on schedule to monitor your progress and mastery of instrument. The good news is you don’t need four months to get ready. It can all be done in SIX WEEKS and this will include getting ready not just to play your music in the practice room, but out to the world.

What if you could learn how to practice the music from great performers? What if they showed you their practice and performance tricks? What if you could get a full lesson with a prime professor for a fraction of the price and without traveling and arranging schedules?

We have done the work for you and we know you’ll love it. If you are considering music as a career, you’ll get to preview how some of the most prestigious professors in Texas work and how they manage their time to produce results based on their organized planning. There are two simple ways to access our videos: Individual Access or School Access

To Band Directors:

With full access to the site, your students will be able to navigate through all band instruments, a total of 88 videos that will explain in detail how to prepare and perform the All-State competition etudes and how to approach the competition to succeed.

Recorded on HD widescreen format, you’ll get to see how the pros use their methods to achieve specific practice goals. It's all about the music and its correct preparation: Get to know the Composer, breathing techniques, proper phrasing, stylistic traditions, performance tricks and more...

Have our staff work for you 24/7:

Your students will be able to access each etude along with the lecture on technical and musical aspects of each piece. All Performances are captured with multiple angles to help not only to display proper technique, but to inspire young students and show them that they too can play music the way the pros can.

Besides the video lessons, students will receive bulletins with helpful tools such as schedules and practice techniques to make it easier for them to prepare for a successful audition. A great performance requires careful planning, well conceived goals, and dedication! World class instruction and methodology will improve the level of performance and enjoyment from students. I Compete in Texas strives to change the focus of this competition from technique to MUSICALITY.

"Technique is an embellishment of human expression...
once it is mastered, the heart of the performer will speak."
-Daniel Pardo

Note to Private Instructors:

icompeteintexas.com does not intent to replace private instructors, but instead to arm them with powerful tools to work on the student's development as musicians. Being trained by private instructors is a valuable learning experience for the talented musicians who are being raised in Texas. The I Compete in Texas products are intended to compliment and add on to the education that the musicians are already receiving.

*If access to private instructors is difficult to obtain, these All-State video lessons will provide an excellent resource to get your students on the right track and improve their performance at the competition.

There hasn’t been an easier way to interact with college professors!

These leading educators will be sharing their approach to challenging music. Our second goal is to show students how to prepare for auditions at universities where our staff will help them further their careers in music. Music is a lifestyle that must be learned early in life and what could be better than learning from those who have discovered a path that will take you to success.

The ordering process is simple and secure. After purchasing the I Compete in Texas learning tools, students will be able to use their log in information to access the lessons 24/7, whether they are at school or at home.

We know there’s a lot going on for high school students in the fall: marching band contests, games, classes and competitions. We want to make it easy for them to deliver results at the All-State competition regardless of their increasingly busy lives.

Thank you for joining our efforts to inspire Texas music students to participate in the Texas All-State Band competition and develop their musicality and desire to be artists.

Let’s get started!
